Celebrate!

Celebrate! After a long day at work I didn’t really have the time or energy for cardmaking. But the arrival of my most recent stamp order definitely gave me the push to at least do something! I ended up quickly throwing this very simple card together as a response to Less is More‘s purple challenge and Mod Squad‘s Repeat After Me (use the same stamp 3 times).

(As an aside: If you follow our Facebook page you’ve already heard this news, but for everyone else – I was lucky enough to be the randomly selected winner of a prize for last week‘s Mod Squad challenge. My entry was the Peek-a-Butterfly card. Not only that but I was also the randomly selected winner for Christmas at Sweet Stampin’s May challenge, for which I made the Funtastic Christmas card. I guess this is my lucky day!)

Back to today’s card..! I decided to use the “celebrate” stamp from the new (to me) Altenew Super Script set. Initially I cut a panel of purple card and stamped three times, the middle one being in Memento Tuxedo Black and the outer two being in Distress Ink in Seedless Preserves. But I wasn’t happy with how that looked, so I started over.

My next attempt was much better. I used a creamy white panel of card and again stamped three times. I entirely unintentionally reversed the colours – the central stamp being purple and the outer two black. I was reasonably happy with how it looked but decided I wanted to do something else, just to give a little something extra.

I took the little shooting star and two other little star stamps from Avery Elle’s Pixie Dust which I arranged and stamped in the black, and then three little hearts from their Hogs and Kisses set which I stamped in the purple.

Then it was just a case of adhering the panel on to the card base!

Celebrate! For such a quick, thrown together card I’m pretty happy how it turned out. It really is clean and simple. The purple for the challenge is included without being too over the top. The repetition is there. Yeah, I like it. Though I think it would look even better heat embossed… I’ll have to try that once I get an embossing tool!

Love,

Lady Joyful
