I made two cards yesterday, but unfortunately before I was able to blog them my fever came back and I wasn’t able to… Well, I’ll share them with you now. The first is a response to two challenges – the sketch comes from My Favorite Things, and the Spring theme is from Mod Squad.
This card was a fairly straight forward one to put together. I started by cutting down my image panel then put it into my MISTI ready for stamping. The flowers I used are from the Altenew Brush Art Floral stamp set, which is a set I received for Christmas. I looked through my inks for colours that seemed suitably spring-like and settled on pink, a blueish purple, and a soft green for the leaves.
Once all the stamping was done, including filling in any gaps with leaves, I moved on to my sentiment banner. I took a piece of light purple paper and added a sentiment from Avery Elle’s Petal Panel which I heat embossed with white.
I attached the sentiment panel to the front of the image panel using my tape runner, then flipped the whole thing over and applied foam tape to the back. (You know how I often complain about running out of foam tape? I bought a very large roll. 50 metres worth. That should keep me from needing to complain for a while!) I attached my panel to the card base and the card was done!
I’m really happy with how this turned out. I love the look of the flowers, and the way the components of the stamp set allow for such freedom in building floral arrangements. The heat embossing worked beautifully for a change, too! My one gripe with the card is that I aligned my panel slightly wrong, so now one edge of the sentiment panel is noticeably off… But that’s a small thing.
Love,

What a wonderful clean and simple card. I love the sketchy flowers and your colors are just perfect. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at the Mod Squad.

It’s huge! I was going to say I’ll take a photo of it next to a cat, but then it’ll get all fluffy… :O

Haha, not quite! Then again, that’s not too huge an exaggeration!
