Today’s card is a quick and simple CAS card with a love theme. It would work well as a Valentine’s, or even as a just-because card to a loved one.
I started by cutting a panel of white card and running it through my Big Shot in a woodgrain embossing folder. I then carefully ran my silver ink pad all over the raised edges (the idea having come from something husband said!) to add definition to them. I cut down a piece of silver mirror card to be just bigger than the white panel, gutted it, and adhered it behind the white panel using my tape runner.
Next I created my heart from a snippet of red paper, using a simple heart die from Sizzix. I covered the heart with Wink of Stella.
The final element to create was the banner. I took a piece of the same red card and heat embossed a sentiment in silver. The sentiment comes from Avery Elle’s Petal Panel. I trimmed the red piece down and cut a fishtail into the end. I then mounted it onto another piece of silver mirror card.
I used foam tape to adhere the wood grain panel to the centre of my grey cardbase. I then adhered my heart and banner using liquid glue and foam tape as required.
I’m quite happy with this card. It definitely is a simple one and didn’t cause me too much trouble to create. I think this is a good basic sketch – it could be fun to make different versions using other colour schemes, and changing the embossing folder and the die cut shape. All the elements tied together nicely and it did turn out quite how I had hoped, which is always satisfying!
Love,
Lady Joyful

Thank you! He didn’t directly suggest the ink, but his comments inspired the idea. He can be helpful at times 😉
