Framed In Pink

It was my intention to share this card yesterday. But I made several other cards before I got to this one, and then when I did finally make it I wasn’t happy with how it turned out. I just don’t like it. I think it has potential. There are certain aspects to it that I like. But the whole thing together is just a bit… meh.

I started by creating the onesie from a snippet of deep pink embossed card, using the Reverse Confetti Onesie die.

Next I decided to stamp the Creative Expressions Floral Toile stamp onto my card base, using Altenew Puffy Heart ink. I got this stamp as a recent challenge prize and it’s really not my style, but I figured I’d give it a go… In hindsight I do think I should have used something else as it was not right for what I wanted to do.

I cut myself a circle from vellum and coated the back of it with a paler pink ink just to help differentiate it from the background. I then covered it with double-sided tape and adhered it to the card base. I then took a snippet of off-white/taupe card and created a strip which I adhered across the frame and circle using my glue pen. I attached the onesie over top with foam squares for some added dimension.

My final touches on this card were to add Wink of Stella around the edge of the frame and on the petals of all the flowers. I then added three adhesive pearls to the top left corner.

Like I said I’m not happy with this card. I like the onesie. But the rest of it is just a bit… blah. I’ll probably end up taking the whole thing apart and trying to do something else with it. It might be better with a coordinating patterned paper instead of the stamped frame.
