The Joyful Soul Creates

Pink Whale

I had a plan for a card today, but by the time I was done with work I just wasn’t feeling up to it. That happens sometimes! I’m gradually trying to get ahead on projects to mitigate that, but I’m prioritising getting ahead on DT work. Anyway. I still wanted to share a card and I realised I still have a few cards that I made with the Scrapping For Less June Flavor of the Month card kit and haven’t got around to sharing. So I picked one of those out to blog today!

With this card I really wanted to highlight some of the patterned paper I had left from the kit. I’d already used a lot of  the papers but still had some cut aparts and a large piece of whale patterned paper, as well as various snippets. All these patterned papers are from Doodlebug Design’s Under The Sea.

I decided to use the whale patterned paper as the main panel on my deep pink card base. I then grabbed one of the cut apart pieces that features a cute little whale to use as my focal panel.

I felt it still needed a little something extra, so I took a couple of the snippets I had left that coordinated nicely colour-wise and created two little banners with them.

I popped I adhered the whale patterned panel directly to the cardbase, then popped up the focal panel and banners using foam tape. I considered adding a sentiment but couldn’t find a good way to make one fit, so decided to leave it as it was.

This card is so fun and cute. It was a great way to use up some of the patterned papers that I had left, and they all go together beautifully. The card could work well as a birthday card for a little girl, or even a new baby card.

Love,
