This post has been a long time in the works! I’d hoped to get it shared ages ago, but between a very busy time at work and being unwell I haven’t had time to get it finished. I finally did though, and I’m managing to share it with you before the end of Halloween. Just. By the skin of my teeth! (At least, in my time zone Halloween hasn’t ended!) The card kit came with so many fantastic products that I wasn’t able to use everything. For these cards I decided to really focus on using the stickers that came in the kit.
(For product links, please see the description box of the video on YouTube.)
Card 1 – Jeepers Creepers Spiders
I cut down the spider web patterned paper to just smaller than the white card base. Adhered it in place with my tape runner, then added three spider stickers and a sentiment sticker over the top. I added a spider web sticker inside the card.
Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday – Anything Goes
Card 2 – In A Dark Dark House
I cut down a piece of patterned paper and adhered it to my kraft card base. I added a strip of coordinating patterned paper as ground. I then added the house, gravestones and skeleton stickers.
Challenges:
The Sisterhood of Crafters – Spots
Card 3 – Halloween Trio
I cut a large circle of patterned paper and adhered it to a kraft card base. I placed the three pumpkin stickers over the top, then added the ghosts as though they are coming out of the pumpkins. Finally I added a sentiment sticker across the top of the card.
Challenges:
{PIN}spirational Challenge – Inspiration Image
Card 4 – Hocus Pocus
I cut down the star patterned paper to be just smaller than my white cardbase, then adhered it in place. Added the witch stickers and hocus pocus stickers. Added some subtle embellishment with star stickers. Finished off the inside with more stars.
Challenges:
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends – Anything Goes
Card 5 – Spooky Skulls
Card 6 – Trick or Treat
I cut a panel of patterned paper and adhered it to my white card base. I used a coordinating paper and adhered a strip of that to ground my images. I then added the witch’s hat and arranged the sweets to appear as if they are bursting out of the hat. I then added the trick or treat sentiment sticker.
Challenges:
Creatalicious – Anything Goes
Card 7 – All Hallows Eve
Card 8 – Witch’s House
I cut a strip of patterned paper for grounding and adhered that to my card base. I created a scene using some of the puffy stickers.
Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday – All Creatures Great and Small
Card 9 – Halloween Panels
I adhered different offcuts of patterned paper to a white card base. I added some twine to fill out the gap. I then adhered stickers to embellish each panel.
Card 10 – Haunted House
I paper pieced the house from the stamp set using two different patterns of card stock. I used a third pattern to create a hill which I adhered to a white card base and then added the house over the top. I added glow to the windows using the glow in the dark Nuvo drops. I added a ghost and speech bubble stickers.
Bonus Card – Favourite Pumpkin
I stamped the cat and pumpkin onto a panel of watercolour paper, masked them off and painted a rich purple and black background. I added splatters of gold along with gold grounding. I remove the masking and coloured the images with watercolour pencils, blended out with an old Wink of Stella pen. I stamped a sentiment with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.
Challenges:
Daring Cardmakers – Blended Background
……….
We don’t really celebrate Halloween here, but even so I had a lot of fun playing with this card kit. And I have so much product left still that I could probably make a whole load more!
Love,
Lady Joyful
