I know, I know – Halloween was yesterday, so why am I sharing another Halloween card? Well, I remembered that I’d coloured up these ghost digis a while ago and hadn’t actually got around to making anything with them. I decided to put together a quick card with them and some of the leftovers from my Halloween card kit. And the ghosts glow in the dark!
I started by printing out the ghost digis, which are from Scrapper’s Delight. I used my lightest grey Yosoo alcohol markers to add just a little shading to them, then fussy cut them out. I then pressed my embossing ink onto them, coated with Wow Glow-In-The-Dark embossing powder and heat set them.
Next I pulled out a couple of the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Halloween kraft patterned papers that came in the card kit. I cut down two panels of paper (trimming away part of the second one to conserve the area that would have been hidden) then adhered them to my black card base.
I took the large “Happy Halloween” sticker from the My Mind’s Eye Trick or Treat puffy sticker set, which was also part of the card kit, and adhered that across the patterned papers.Β Finally I adhered the three ghosts into place.
And here’s a picture of the glow! This picture came out much better than my previous attempt at showing glow. The reason for that is that this time I used my tripod so that the camera would remain completely still for the long time that the shutter was open… Anyway, the picture worked nicely!
I’m really pleased with this card. All along I’d had the idea of making the ghosts glow in the dark and I’m so happy that it worked out! They actually glow even better than I’d hoped! And I love that the details still show up through the glow.
Love,
Lady Joyful

Thank you! It’s so fun to make them glow in the dark. I’m wondering how to incorporate it on other types of card.

All good ideas π I shall have to experiment – I believe the glow doesn’t work as well if it’s a dark background but I can probably find ways around that.
