Father Christmas – MM 266

This week at Merry Monday Sue is challenging us to include a Santa on our cards. (Or Father Christmas, as I would call him!) I had a more involved idea that I wanted to do for this card, but since being ill I’ve fallen behind on things. I did get started on my other idea, but then I started coming down with a fever (lucky me!) so I switched to something simpler instead, which is how I came up with this card. I have made a similar card before, which is good because I didn’t have to put too much brain power into it!

This card really was very straight forward to make. I stamped the image, from Art Impressions’ Merriest Christmas stamp set, along with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Merry Messages directly onto my card base. I then coloured the image in using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers along with some Yosoo markers to fill in any colour gaps. The red, for example, is with Yosoo markers as I do not have any red SN markers.

That really was all that I did with the card! I stamped it, and I coloured it. It took me quite a long time though because I kept having to stop and rest. All I wanted to do was go to sleep… But I got it done in the end!

As I said this is very similar to a card I’ve made before. It is also a very simple card, with not a lot needing to be done. Thankfully the image is lovely and can really carry the card on its own. I’d love to get some more Art Impression stamps for exactly that reason!
