Happy Thanksgiving! (Slightly belated, sorry!) Though we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Finland I was very excited to see this awesome freebie from Mari Ko Creations. It’s free with any purchase during the Black Friday – definitely worth checking out! What I love most about this stamp is how versatile it is. It is great for Thanksgiving, but also for thank you cards at any time of the year!
I kept my card pretty simple as I really wanted to let the image shine. I printer out both parts on to some alcohol marker friendly paper and coloured them up using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. I kept my colours on the Autumnal side, using soft oranges for the flowers, yellow greens for the rounded leaves, and darker greens for the spiky leaves.
I had originally planned to keep the card as a one layer card, but after colouring I decided to fussy cut the heart out and adhere it to a kraft card base. I then adhered the full inner panel to the inside of the card.
I love how this card turned out. The kraft card base really helps the image pop, and the Autumnal colours work beautifully for the flowers. It’s such a sweet image and I can definitely see myself using it a lot! It’d be fun to make a set of thank you card with different coloured flowers on each. I definitely encourage you to check out the sale at Mari Ko Creations and grab your freebie whilst you can!
Love,
Lady Joyful

What a fabulous CAS design and the fact you decorated the inside of your card too is wonderful (I always forget to do that….). Love the heart image with those sweet little flowers and their colour looks great against the kraft cardstock too. Its a gorgeous card and I’m so glad you shared it with us this month at The Flower Challenge!!

Thank you 😊 I usually forget the inside too but as the image had a companion for the inside I felt it would be wrong not to use it!
