Little Snowman’s Hot Cocoa – Mari Ko Creations Mid-November 2017 Release

I’m here to share my third card featuring a new release image from Mari Ko. The mid-November release is full of adorable images. You can find the first card here and the second here. This time I decided to keep things simple and let the stamp really take centre stage on the card.

I started by printing out the Little Snowman Has Hot Cocoa digi onto some alcohol marker friendly paper. I then used a combination of Spectrum Noir and Yosoo alcohol markers to colour the image in. I stayed traditional with red for the snowman’s hat, using the same shades on the hearts on his jumper. I then used greens for the jumper itself.

I added shading to the white areas of the snowman and the trim of his hat using my lightest grey, which is a yellow grey Yosoo marker. I used orange for the carrot nose, and some brown for the stick arms.

I went with dark browns for colouring in the hot cocoa in the cup, then bought in some rich blue to colour the cup itself. Finally I used a variety of browns to add colour and shading to the table top.

I used an embossing pen to fill in the area of the snowflake decorating the cup, as well as the top edge of the cup. I coated it with Wow Cloud-9 glittery embossing powder and heat set it.

Finally I added my sentiment, from Art Impressions’ Merriest Christmas Set, to the bottom corner of the panel. I then trimmed it down and adhered it to my card base.

I’m very happy with this clean and simple one layer card. The image is so lovely and I’m really pleased with my colouring, particularly on the hat. The glittery accents on the cup definitely add a little extra something to the overall look of the card.
