Coffee Beans

I have another coffee themed card to share today! This is my second entry to the Winter Coffee Lovers blog hop. The winter theme is a bit less obvious in this one than the card I shared yesterday, but I imagine that she’s all bundled up in her favourite jumper, drinking her favourite hot drink, and watching the snow through the window. Seems sensible to me!

I started by printing my chosen image onto some alcohol marker friendly paper. This image is a digi stamp from Bugaboo and is called JJ Coffee Digi Stamp. I don’t remember whether I got this through one of my Design Teams or it may have been offered up one week as a freebie – I like to keep an eye on what freebies are offered!

After printing the image I got started on colouring it. I used both Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Yosoo alcohol markers. I found the hair to be technically most difficult to do, but I did also struggle a little with the chair solely because I wasn’t sure what colour to do it! After completing the image I also added some brown into the dots underlining the word “coffee” in the sentiment, to make them look like coffee beans.

I cut a mat from some brown card, gutted it, then adhered the focal panel over the top of it. I then adhered the whole thing to a white card base. I considered adding something more but eventually decided that it didn’t really need anything more. I did add some Glossy Accents to her glasses as well as to the screen of her tablet.

This was a fun and fairly simple card to make. I do like the snarky sentiment! It’s nice to have the image and sentiment paired up as it really makes it easy to create a quick card like this one without having to think too much. If I had some fun coffee themed patterned papers I would definitely have used one in the background. Maybe something in a light brown with coffee beans repeating over it. That must exist somewhere, right? I’m sure it does.

Love,

Lady Joyful
