Mrs Snowman – Mari Ko Creations Challenge #5

I have a DT project to share with you today for the latest challenge over at the Mari Ko Creations Challenge Blog. The theme for this challenge is winter blues.

I started by printing out the Mrs Snowman digi onto some alcohol marker friendly paper. This digi was recently offered as a freebie in the Mari Ko Creations Facebook page. Once I’d printed her out I coloured her with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, along with Yosoo alcohol markers. I went blue for her hat and scarf, with yellow-orange tones for the flowers, orange for the carrot nose, and soft pink for the hearts. I added shading to the white areas using my lightest grey. After completing the colouring I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval die to cut it out.

Next I moved on to my card base. I created a blue card base and white heat embossed a sentiment as well as a variety of snowflakes across it. I also added some white dots of gel pen to give the impression of even smaller snowflakes. The snowflakes I used are from The Cat’s Pajamas Penguin Christmas stamp set, and the sentiment is from Pink and Main’s Snow Globe.

.

Love,

Lady Joyful

  2. This is such an adorable card! I love how you brought your snow-girl to life with those fabulous colors that really pop. I also like the clear clean blue of the background and how you created your own pattern with the snowflakes. This was a delight to see and I’m so glad you took the time to share it with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
