Happy Monday, everyone! It’s time for another Merry Monday challenge and this week we have a colour challenge for you. Marcia is hosting, and she is looking for Christmas cards featuring red and turquoise. I made a clean and simple scene card for my project.
I used using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers, along with Yosoo alcohol markers, for colouring my images. I started by colouring her coat red. I then used a turquoise combination to colour the scarf, earmuffs and shows, as well as the bow on the present. I bought in the red again for the lines on the scarves.
I used light greys to add shading to the trim of the jacket as well as Lilly’s tights. I also used it to shade the present. I used light browns for her gloves. I went with a pale skin tone and brown hair, and used a grey-blue for her eyes. Finally I used a very light blue to add some grounding, giving the impression of ice below her.
Once I was happy with the colouring I trimmed my image panel down and adhered it to a card base with double-sided tape.
I’m very happy with this card. I think I showcased the colours well whilst keeping the card clean and simple, and the sentiment feels appropriate for the card. I am very pleased with my colouring, though I did struggle with the hair a little.
