Diamond Birthday – CAS C&S #259

My second challenge as a guest designer for CAS Colours & Sketches is a sketch challenge. I flipped the sketch around to make my card. This card is actually one of my 10 cards 1 kit cards for the Love From Lizi February card kit. I started by using my craft knife to trim down some of the gold glitter peel-offs to equal lengths. I then carefully laid them onto my white card base. Initially I used a ruler to ensure they were straight but I eventually decided just to eyeball it.

I took one of the wooden diamond tags and snipped off the white fishtail banner that was attached to it. I then used foam tape to adhere it popped up onto my card.

My final element was the sentiment. I did cut the Happy Birthday sentiment from some gold glitter card and glued it into place on the bottom corner of the card.

I really love this card. The sketch was fun to play with and the elements from the kit leant themselves perfectly to it. I really like the look of the gold against the white, too.
