The second video in my Easter series is also my design team inspiration for the newest Mari Ko Creations Challenge. Mari’s newly released image is perfect for the Bunny Hop/Easter theme of the challenge, and perfect to use for my video too!
I started by printing the Easter Bunny Petals Unicorn Digital Stamp onto some alcohol marker friendly paper. I then coloured the image in using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Yosoo alcohol markers. The colours used can be seen in the video above.
Once my colouring was complete I stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Easter Greetings with Altenew Jet Black dye ink below my image. I then lightly drew around a circle die to give a guide for stamping my Easter eggs. The eggs are also from the Easter Greetings stamp set. I stamped the base layer alternating colours between Altenew Frosty Pink Crisp Dye Ink and Altenew Mountain Mist Crisp Dye Ink, slightly varying the direction of the eggs as I went.
After completing the circle (or arch, I guess) of eggs I moved on to adding the second layer. For the pink eggs I used the dotty layer along with Altenew Coral Berry Crisp Dye Ink, and for the teal I went with Altenew Volcano Lake Crisp Dye and the striped stamp.
I felt like the lower portion of the card still needed something extra so I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Crafty Friend stamp set (from the February card kit) with Altenew Ocean Waves Crisp Dye Ink. I then used a ruler and a sharpie fineliner to add lines either side of the stamping to help define it.
I like the kind of whimsical feel of this card. I feel like I did a good job of matching the marker colours with the ink colours. I’d actually originally planned on having more colours of eggs, but settled on the two as there were only the two different designs anyway. Given that I chose only the pink and teal eggs I’m glad I decided to use the Sky Blue on the flowers. I almost didn’t because of not having any other markers that would coordinate for blending with it, but it matches so well with the Mountain Mist that I’m happy I found a way to make it work.
Love,
Lady Joyful

What a whimsically wonderful card! I think the coloring job is top-notch and I really love the combination of patterns (the diagonal lines are gorgeous)! This card made me smile and I’m sure it would be a hit with such a wide variety of recipients.
