For my card I used the Somebunny Special image, which I printed onto some alcohol marker friendly paper, then coloured in with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Yosoo alcohol markers. I kept the colouring pretty simple, going for a white rabbit with pink ears, an orange carrot and bright green leaves. Once I’d finished colouring I carefully fussy cut the image out and set it to one side.
I knew I wanted to keep the card fairly clean and simple. I chose a white card base and ink blended some Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to create a focal area behind where I planned to adhere the bunny. I bought the bunny image back over a couple of times so I could check whether I had enough ink down. Once I was happy with it I added a sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp’s Easter Greetings stamped with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid Ink, just below the orange area. I then adhered the fussy cut rabbit into place.
As a final touch I took some sequins in yellow and orange tones and added them to the card.
I’m really pleased with this card. The bunny is so cute and coloured up really well. The orange ink blending helps add interest to the card and stop the rabbit getting lost against the white cardbase, but at the same time avoids adding too much extra to the card. I’m also very happy with the way the sequins look. I still struggle with getting sequins to look right, but on this occasion I think I got the positioning just perfectly.
Love,
Lady Joyful
