WWC166 – Kath’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge

We’re looking for masculine cards this week at Watercooler Wednesdays. Between being sick, out of the country and technical difficulties I’ve ended up really behind on things and am busily trying to catch up, so rather than making a brand new card for this challenge I looked through my stash of cards I’ve yet to share. This card is one I made a little while ago, and I thought it would work well for this challenge.

I started by printing the digi stamp onto some alcohol marker friendly paper. This digi is one that Heffy Doodle offered for world card making day. I then coloured it in using my alcohol markers.

Once I was happy with the colouring I cut the image out. I used my paper trimmer to cut along the edge of the ground, being sure to lift the blade and not cut through the bear or post box. I then fussy cut around the figures.

I searched through my patterned papers to find one suitable for the background and came across this fun paper with the quirky buildings. I adhered the patterned paper, then attached the fusssy cut image over the top, completing the card.

I’m happy with this card, and really like the patterned paper. It works beautifully for the scene. I did decide to forgo a sentiment on this one as I felt with the busy patterned paper there was already enough going on with the card. Plus this way it doesn’t have to be used for a particular occasion.

Love,

Lady Joyful

  1. Hi Charlotte, what a fun card! That busy background of houses with its neutral colours works beautifully for this scene. It shows off the wonderful colouring of that little bear and the mailbox. Love the shading you’ve achieved! I agree that a sentiment just wasn’t needed for this card. The scene says it all.

  2. Simply a wonderful card Charlotte. I love the background paper and how well your cut out images fit in with it. All those houses…..what fun! It really looks like the bear and the box are part of the local scene and your colouring of those images is simply over the top. Thanks for sharing this delightful fun card with us.
