We’re halfway through our floral themed challenge over at the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, which means there’s still a little while left to play along for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate from our fabulous sponsor Newton’s Nook Designs.

The stamp sets I used for this card are the same ones I used on my first DT card for this challenge. From Uniko I used the Paradise, Paradise Leaves and Paradise Hummingbird stamp sets, and stamped them in a pattern across a white panel. I used Altenew Lavender Fields and Deep Iris for my purples, Forest Glades for the green, and Ocean Waves for my blue. The blue was a bit brighter than I had intended, but seemed the most suitable of the colours I had available to me.
Once I had completed stamping my background I used two Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval dies to cut from the centre of the card. I set aside the centre most oval, then left the frame part that I had created in place in the card. I used the smaller oval to cut a snippet of white card, which I edged with the Lavender Fields ink.
I then used MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink to stamp one of the images from Newton’s Nook’s Aloha Newton stamp set onto the white oval. I also stamped a sentiment at the same time. I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers to colour in the image. I tried to pick colours that matched the colours I had used for my stamping, and bought in some browns for colouring the cat.
Having completed all my elements I started assembling the card. I created a card base from some white card, then used Simon Says Stamp Craft Tacky Glue to adhere all the elements into place. I started by gluing in the outer most portion, then laid in the frame oval, before finally adding in the image oval.

This card turned out really pretty, and I do like the colours. The solid stamping gives quite a different look when compared to the rock and roll technique with the more pastel colours that I had used in the other card.
Love,
Lady Joyful
