WWC173 – Tenia’s Feminine “Anything Goes” Challenge

Anyone else surprised by how quickly Wednesday has come around this week? I think being away at the weekend messed with my perception of days! Nonetheless it is Wednesday, which means it’s time for a new Watercooler Wednesday challenge. This week we are looking for feminine projects.

First I dry embossed my muted yellow card base with an embossing folder from Darice called Scroll Frame. I then went over it very lightly with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to help the embossing stand out from the background. I also used the same embossing folder on a piece of vellum so that I could fussy cut it out to perfectly fit within the central portion of the frame.

My focal panel is stamped using two stamps from the Creative Expressions John Lockwood Lily of the Valley Elements stamp set. I coloured it in with my Yosoo alcohol markers, then fussy cut the oval out.

Lining everything up on my card base I first adhered my focal oval to the vellum, then used that as a place to hide my adhesive so that I could adhere the vellum to the card base.

Whilst I don’t dislike this card I don’t love it either. I like the focal panel – I think it’s very pretty in its simplicity. I think perhaps the embossed background is a bit too much for my preference though. A bit busier than I prefer. Not bad exactly, but different.

Love,

Lady Joyful

  1. What a fabulous effect with the embossing folder and then lightly going over it with the ink. Such a classy card and the flowers are so delicate and pretty x

  2. A simply beautiful card Charlotte. I love yellow base which looks very warm and inviting and ultra feminine. I also like the dry embossing background and the lovely sentiment piece. Thanks so much for sharing.
