It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for a new Watercooler Wednesday challenge! It’s my turn to host, and as it’s the first Wednesday of the month it is our feminine themed anything goes challenge. I went with a bright and summery card as my inspiration for you.
I started by using the Simon Says Stamp Bikini wafer die to cut a bikini from a snippet of Echo Park’s Summer Dreams 6×6 patterned paper (which I can’t seem to source, but you can find the 12×12 version here). I then looked through the other papers to see which ones would go well together and with the bikini. I wanted to use up pieces I had on hand, so I played around with them until I found a layout I liked.
Once I was happy with my choice of colours and layouts I started to adhere everything together. I used double-sided tape to attach all of the panels.
Before adding my bikini I needed to add a sentiment. I experimented with the best way to fit the bikini and sentiment – from Simon Says Stamp’s Sea You Soon – onto the pink panel, then stamped it into place using MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink. I then used liquid glue on the back of my bikini and attached it to the panel.
This is definitely a fun, colourful and summery card. It’s a bit busier than I normally prefer, but I think it works. In any case, it was a good way to use up some of the patterned paper from my stash. I hope you’ll come and play along with our challenge this week. Remember, you can link up any project so long as it is feminine in theme.
