10 Cards 1 Kit – Love From Lizi Card Kit July 2018 (With Video)

This week has been a very busy one, but I finally managed to get my Love From Lizi July card kit video finished up and ready to share with you. I loved this kit and think it may well be my favourite that I’ve played with so far. I hope you like what I’ve done with it! Before I jump into the card making I have a video (above) that shows some different ways you can use the awesome never-ending stamp. I stamped two versions with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink and coloured with alcohol markers – one coloured in its entirety, and the other spotlight coloured. Two more were stamped with Simon Says Stamp’s Barely Beige ink with one creating a tone-on-tone look on regular card, and the other becoming a no-line watercolouring piece. The final two examples used embossing ink – with one I clear heat embossed and ink blended on kraft, and the other utilised pigment powders for a fun shimmery look.

Card 1 – Happy Times

For my first card I started by assembling one of the decoupage elements. I chose the one with the mice and ice cream, and skipped using the second layer as I had another plan in mind for that. I then cut a piece of patterned paper to just smaller than my cardbase. I added the yellow ribbon to the panel, attached it to the card base, then added my decoupage over the top. I used the same yellow ribbon to create a double bow to adhere on one side of the card. Finally I used the Simply White Nuvo Drops all over the white dots on the image for some added interest.

Card 2 – Ice Cream Shaker

I used the second layer I’d left out of the decoupage to create my second card. I wanted to turn it into a shaker with the ice cream paper as a background. I felt that the background was a little intense though so I used vellum as my shaker window to help knock it back a bit. I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Oval die to cut the vellum and backing paper, as I had found one that was also let the exact same size as the decoupage piece. It might actually have been better to hand cut though as the slight difference in size did make assembly a bit tricky. I filled the shaker with the Summer Sprinkles sequins, then adhered it to another piece of patterned paper which I’d attached to my card base. I edged the patterned panel with the Candyfloss Pink peel offs. Finally I added a sentiment panel taken from one of the other decoupage pieces.

Card 3 – Beach Please

I wanted to work with the sand for my third card, and had the idea of making sand dunes. I used the Pink and Main Scalloped Wave dies to cut some kraft card stock which I’d coated with double-sided tape. You could use any kind of wave or hill dies, or even freehand it. I chose kraft card so that any areas where the sand didn’t take as well would still look sandy.

I removed the backing paper from my double-sided tape and burnished the sand into it. I then set them aside and worked on the rest of my card. I knew I would be using a frame element by from one of the decoupage pieces, so I put that against my card base to work out where I needed to add my clouds. I then used my makeshift cloud mask and some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide to blend clouds into the masked off section. Once I was happy with it I removed my masks.

I adhered the sand dunes to the back of my frame, and used them as a guide to add my sentiment. I hadn’t left enough space for the sentiment from the set that came with the kit so I used one from my side, from Simon Says Stamp’s Sea You Soon. I then adhered the frame into place and added the wood veneer beach hut.

Card 4 – Best Escape

My fourth card uses the inner portion of the decoupage frame I’d used on the previous one. I arranged the beach hut ephemera onto it, then added a sentiment from the Let’s Shellabrate stamp set off to one side. I cut down the beach scene patterned paper to be my background panel, added the beach hut ribbon, then adhered my panel over the top with foam tape to give some dimension.

Card 5 – Let’s Shellebrate

Next I pulled in one of the panels I’d made right at the start, using the never-ending stamp set. I really wanted to highlight it on this card, so I trimmed it down to almost fill the card base, and added a strip of the narrow orange ribbon around it. The ribbon helped to disguise where I hadn’t quite got it perfectly lines up. Before adhering the ribbon in place I white heat embossed a sentiment to sit just above it. I added the panel to a card base made from the blush pearlised paper, and edged it with peel-offs to finish the card.

Card 6 – Sand Shaker

I used another piece of the alcohol marker coloured shell panel for my next card, as the background for a shaker. I first trimmed a panel of the more subtly stamped, uncoloured version, then used a die to cut a window from it. I adhered acetate to create my window and stamped a sentiment on to the panel. I combined some sand with some platinum glitter, then added my top panel with foam tape. I took extra care to ensure my foam tape was very tightly together around the shaker well, so that no sand or glitter could escape. I carefully adhered it to my card base over the background panel, making sure it was properly lined up, and pressed it into place. A quick test shake confirmed it was all in working order.

Card 7 – Elegant Shellabration

Another of my shell patterned panels for card 7. This one made with blue paper from my stash, coated in embossing ink followed by perfect pearls, and then stamped with more embossing ink using the stamp, which lifts the pearls and creates a fun effect. Any card could be used. I trimmed it down and edged the lower edge with a peel-off. I stamped a sentiment and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp’s Steel Navy embossing powder on the white pearlised card base. I then popped up my shell panel on foam tape.

Card 8 – Splish Splash

I went back to the decoupage for my eighth card. First I assembled the decoupage portion. I then chose some patterned papers I thought would coordinate well. I used the life ring paper to create a background panel, topped it with a contrasting paper which I edged with peel-offs, then added the decoupage panel over the top.

Card 9 – By The Sea

Instead of using patterned paper behind the decoupage for my ninth card I decided to do some subtle ink blending using the stencil, as I’d yet to use it. I blended white pigment ink through the stencil onto my blue card base. I left the middle area blank as I knew it would be covered by the decoupage. Once the blending was done I added the completed decoupage, then covered the white dots on the decoupage with Simply White Nuvo Drops, which finished the card.

Card 10 – Birthday Treat

I went for a different look with my final card. I wanted to use the ice cream die as I hadn’t yet used it. I also wanted to use the puffy banner stickers. I first die cut the ice cream from a snippet of kraft, and whitened the top portion with my white pigment ink. I also blended some brown ink to the cone to emphasise the embossed lines. I cut the flake from a piece of dark brown card from my snippet folder. I chose a panel of patterned paper from the kit, and a vellum panel over the top. From another piece of the patterned paper I used a die from the February kit to cut “happy birthday” in a way that I could line it back up with the lines in the pattern. I also added a heat embossed sentiment to the vellum, using the Sweet Treats stamp set from the March kit. Laying my ice cream and sentiment in place I spent some time arranging the puffy stickers. I added my patterned paper panel to my card base, then realised it was upside down and the sentiment wouldn’t fit properly, so I had to cut it off and redo it. I then put foam tape behind the stickers on the vellum and adhered the vellum panel to the patterned paper. Finally I added my die cut sentiment.

As I said at the beginning of the post, I really had a lot of fun with the card kit. The happy summery colours and adorable animals really appealed to me. I had fun using the decoupage but I particularly loved the amazing stamp set and would love to have more never-ending stamps to play with. Although this kit is sold out a lot of the add-ons are still available.
