I’m a day late on my self-imposed deadline for this card. Last week was quite busy with my dad visiting, and I took some time off at the weekend to recover! I still have a couple of weeks of holiday left before I go back to work, and I’m hoping to get ahead on my projects in that time.
I started by adhering the speech bubble Embellish! embellishment to a snippet of white card using Glossy Accents. I left it with an acrylic block to fully set in place, then trimmed away the excess card, leaving me with just the speech bubble shape.
I cut another snippet of white to use as my focal panel. I then placed it into my MISTI for a good stamping surface, and repeatedly stamped the “hello” stamp from Tropical Party onto the square using Simon Says Stamp Melon hybrid ink. I edged the square with some black ink, then also added a little bar across by masking and partially stamping the envelope from the Brush Hearts stamp set. Whilst I was stamping I also added my sentiment to the speech bubble using Altenew Jet Black ink.
I pulled out a parrot that I’d made whilst doing a previous card. I’d stamped it from the Tropical Party stamp set and coloured with my alcohol markers, then fussy cut it out. I used liquid glue to attach the parrot to the stamped panel. The panel itself and the speech bubble were attached to the card base with foam tape.
This card is very clean and simple, and definitely a quick one to make! I am glad I put the perch for the parrot as it really helps him to not look as though he is just floating in space. It had taken me a while to work out what to do with this speech bubble embellishment (I still have an @ left that I need to think of a purpose for!) but I like what I came up with. I think it is a very fitting accompaniment to the parrot!
Love,
Lady Joyful
