MKC Digitals December Release | Nerdy Snowman

Have you checked out the new release at MKC Digitals yet? I previously shared a card I made with the new Winter Wishes image. Now I’m featuring another of the new stamps which is the Nerdy Snowman image. You can see more of the release in our Facebook Group. The shop is currently down for maintenance but the new release images will all be available once it’s back up, and there is a special on Christmas/Winter images for the entire month of December, so there will still be time to save 40% off that section when the website is up and running again.

I began by arranging multiple versions of the Nerdy Snowman into a stack to be somewhat Christmas tree shaped, or at least a pyramid. I then added one of the sentiments from Holiday Sentiments below to also be representative of the tree trunk. I then printed the finished arrangement onto a white card base. Printing directly onto the card base means it can be a true one layer card.

I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour in the image. I went with grey for the shading on the white of the snowmen, although often I would use pale blues for this. I then decided to go with a traditional Christmas colour scheme. I used a red combination to colour the hats of the snowmen, and bought in green on the wraps of the coffee mugs. For the mugs themselves I went with a creamy colour, and a touch of grey shading for the lids. I used the same greys to add my grounding. The carrots and arms I coloured with the typical orange and brown respectively.

This really was a very straightforward card to make. It was simply a matter of arranging the images, printing them and colouring them in. I think it makes a fun card though and I am happy with the design. Don’t forget to check out the blog, Facebook Group and shop to keep up with the rest of the news on the release.
