Craftin Desert Divas December Release | Delicious Wishes | Cake Shop

I haven’t been the best at sharing things the last few weeks. Life has been tough. But with the New Year I’m trying my hardest to get back on track, so today I’m going to quickly share one of the cards I made with the December release at Craftin Desert Divas! Have you seen it yet? For this card I decided to use some of the accessory images from the Delicious Wishes digi set to create my clean and simple card. My term with Craftin Desert Divas has actually come to an end now, but I figured I’d share my last couple of makes for them anyway. Better late than never.

I started by arranging the images and sentiment, adjusting sizing and positions until I was happy with the layout. I then printed it directly onto my white card base.

I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour in the images. I tried to keep the colours quite consistent, repeating the turquoise colour, for example, on different elements of the design.

Once all the elements were coloured I added a hint of shadow to ground them. I used my lightest grey, blending it out very well with my blender pen to give a very subtle look.

I’m really pleased with this clean and simple card design. With the sentiment and images I think it could work for a variety of occasions, whether as a birthday card or just because. It could be fun to play around with different colour schemes for it too, depending on the purpose of the card.
