It’s time to share the final card I made with the December release from Craftin Desert Divas. You can see the previous cards I made with it here, here and here. This is also my very final card made as a Design Team member for Craftin Desert Divas. My term ended as the year ended. The end of the year was pretty intense life-wise (being ill, ongoing medical issues, losing my job, death in the family…) and I got behind on sharing projects, which is why this one is coming out to you a bit late. I hope you’ll enjoy it anyway.
For this one I started by creating a similar background to the one I’d used on my first card with the release, making a tone on tone pattern with the oven glove image from Delicious Wishes. I then die cut it with a circle die.
Additionally to the circle I printed out the kangaroo image from the set and coloured it with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. I decided to go with a red and white design for the accessories she’s wearing. Once I’d finished colouring I fussy cut the image out.
I chose a sentiment from the Say It Big stamp set and stamped it onto my die cut circle with red ink. I then created a red card base and adhered the circle and kangaroo, with a slight overlap, using foam tape so that they were popped up from the cardbase.
I think the red and white colour scheme on this card is very fun. Sometimes it’s nice to flip things and use a coloured card base with white accents rather than the usual white card base. The neutral colours of the kangaroo work well with it too.
Love,
Lady Joyful
