10 Cards 1 Kit – Love From Lizi Card Kit February 2019 | Video

A while ago I stopped doing 10 card 1 kit videos in favour of doing several shorter videos focusing on a process for each card kit. Or that was the theory. In practice I’ve been finding it hard to find the time to do several videos per kit, which meant that some kits have been neglected. So I decided that maybe I’ll start doing 10 card videos again!

Card 1 – Acts of Kindness

For my first card with this art deco inspired kit I embossed my credit card base with the pretty fan patterned embossing folder. (Check out this post for fun ideas on ways to use your folders.) I edged the embossed area with mirror peel-offs, and used the same peel-offs around the cut apart I’d chosen for my focal panel. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut three feathers using the Attagirl stamp set, and adhered them to the corner of the panel which I popped up on my card base with foam tape.

Card 2 – Peacock Love

I went one layer for my second card. I stamped the peacock, frame and a sentiment from the stamp set directly on to my card base.i coloured the peacock and frame using my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. I then added detail to the peacock with a gold pen as well as a glitter gel pen. I used the same gold pen to add a frame all around the card base. Finally I added Glossy Accents to the sentiment frame to give the impression of glass.

Card 3 – With Love

My card bird card is another one layer card. I created a smoother background using Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink. I then dry embossed the frame die into it. I coated the die with embossing ink prior to running it through my Big Shot, so afterwards.i was able to add Golden Crown embossing powder to further enhanced the frame design. I used the second embossing powder to add the sentiment to the centre of the frame, then finished off the card by adding some of the Atta Girl sequins.

Card 4 – Something Splendid

I created a tone-on-tone background for my fourth card by stamping the feather with Altenew Lagoon ink onto my teal card base. I concentrated the stamping to the top and bottom of the card. J then added a sticker strip along the centre of the card, edging it with strips cut from one of the patterned papers. I finished off with a sentiment banner from the sticker sheet.

Card 5 – Feather Frame

I went back to clean and simple for my fifth card. I started by die cutting a frame using gold mirror card. I masked my card base using the negative of the die cut as a guide, then stamped the feathers around it with Lagoon ink. I removed the masks and adhered the frame into position, before finishing up with a sentiment stamped in the centre.

Card 6 – Awesome Birthday

You can read about this card in it’s own blog post, here.

Card 7 – Simply Awesome

Probably my quickest card to create I started card seven by embossing the white pearlised card with the embossing folder. I added it to a frame of the black pearlised card and adhered to my card base. I then added the remainder of the die cut black pearlised frame’s inner portion, popped up on foam tape.

Card 8 – Up And Up

My eighth card started with the peacock which I stamped and embossed with Simon Says Stamp’s Steel Navy embossing powder, then fussy cut out. I adhered it to a panel of textured gold card, and added two banner stickers as well as a sentiment sticker

Card 9 – Be The Change

Card number nine was originally going to be a stamped card but it went awry, so I covered the mistake on the card base with a piece of patterned paper. I then die cut the corner die twice from the gold vinyl and attached one to the top right and the other to the bottom left. I cut another of the cut apart so, rounded the corners, and popped it up on my card base to complete the card.

Card 10 – Copacetic

I made another embossed background for my final card, using the pearlised mint card this time, which I adhered to a dark blue card base. I edged it with gold mirror peel-offs, then edged the floral sticker strip with remnants of the textured gold card and adhered that over the embossed panel. I pieces together a mat for my sticker focal element, and popped that up on foam tape. Finally I added three of the gold gems from the kit to the lower right corner of the focal panel, which completed my final card.

……….

It wasn’t until working on this video that I realised how much I miss doing 10 cards 1 kit. It’s a lot of work, but I had fun doing it. I’d love to know which of the cards is your favourite. Mine is card 5. I’m pretty pleased with all of them though, and I don’t think there are any that I really don’t like.

Love,

Lady Joyful
