WWC208 – Charlotte’s “All About Occasions” Challenge

Let’s talk about mirror card. I like mirror card. It can be fun to create with. But it can also be an absolute nightmare to photograph. Like on this card, for example. I could not get a picture that didn’t have the mirror card shining unnecessarily brightly and making everything else seem too dark. Sigh. I do like this card though. I took a step away from clean and simple to create it for the All About Occasions challenge I’m hosting this week at Watercooler Wednesday challenge. I used elements from the Love From Lizi February card kit, and it’s one of ten cards I made and filmed with the kit.

My starting point for this card was the the focal point. I die cut a frame using the Attagirl die from the card kit and some black pearlised card. I backed it with double-sided tape and in-laid golden mirror card pieces left from a frame I’d cut for one of the previous cards.

Next I trimmed a panel of patterned paper and cut it to be just smaller than the black card base. I adhered he panel to place and added mirror peel-offs around the edge of the panel as well as across the centre.

Then I used a Memory Box word die to cut the word “awesome” from the leftover centre snippet of the black pearlised card. I adhered it onto the golden mirror card, then black heat embossed the rest of the sentiment, from Lawn Fawn’s Lovable Legends.

Finally I added foam tape onto the back of my focal panel and popped it up on my card.

Whilst it is different from my usual style I’m really pleased with this card. The colours work together really nicely and it’s a fun design. I love how well the sentiment fits in the frame, too.
