Both of my cards use dies from Mama Elephant’s Framed Tags Lafayette to create the framed look. For one of the cards I used them the traditional way, die cutting some snippets of white card. For the second card, which is a one layer design, I instead embossed the dies into the card base.
I used the Frame Me sentiment from Chunky Monkey Crafts’ Narky Finishing Sentiments 2 and heat embossed it in gold with Love From Lizi’s Golden Crown Embossing Powder into the centre of the smallest layer. I used liquid glue to adhere together all the layers of the die cut version of the card, and as a final touch I added three clusters of Simply White Nuvo Drops around the sentiment on each of the cards.
Which card do you prefer? I think I like the one layer, embossed version more personally. Either way I think they are both fun cards. I like the play on the “frame me” sentiment by creating a multi-framed design. I can think of a couple of different options for use of these cards. They could be used as a silly/snarky reminder that cards are art too(!) and should be appreciated as such. Or alternatively they could be gifted with a picture, painting or photo, with the sentiment referring to the fact that the present ought to be framed. And of course the same framing layered design could be used with any sentiment you like in the centre – some of the other sentiments from Narky Finishing Sentiments 2 could be fun to add there too, like the sentiments I used on my cards last week.
