You may have noticed that I’m no longer a part of the Watercooler Wednesday team. Life has been a bit tough lately, and the difficult decision to part ways was made. I’m sharing this card that I had made for the challenge that went live the week that I ended up leaving the team. As I have it made it seems silly to not share it, so I decided to post it on my blog today.
I started my card by stamping and white heat embossing Blank Page Muse’s Background Roses onto a piece of vellum. I turned the vellum over to work on the back side, then used a yellow MozArt Watercolour Pen to add simple colour to each of the flowers. Working on the backside of the vellum does mean the colour will be more muted than the normal colour, so it’s a good idea to choose a more intense colour.
Once I’d finished colouring the vellum and let it dry I cut a panel of white card, just smaller than my card base, and cut out a window from the card. I put double sided tape onto the edges of the back side of the window, then adhered the embossed and painted vellum to show through the window.
Before adding the panel to my card base I added a sentiment. I chose one from Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers stamp set, which reads Love & Hugs, and I stamped it below my window, aligned to one side of the window, with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink.
I used foam tape to pop up my panel onto my white card base. Then as a final touch I added some Yellow Bird Glitter Nuvo Drops.
This is the first time (that I can remember, at least!) that I’ve watercoloured on vellum. I did keep it very simple, only using the one colour, but I enjoyed it and am happy with how it looks. I think I will challenge myself to use more colours next time I try the technique.
Love,
Lady Joyful

Hi Charlotte. Just dropped by the Watercolour Wednesday challenge blog and didn’t see anything about you leaving the team. I’m sorry to hear things have been difficult for you lately. And sorry that no one acknowledged your leaving the team and the hard work you did for them. It’s a real shame. Loll

Thank you, Loll. I think it was mentioned a couple of weeks ago in the feminine challenge – that was the first week I was off the team. I appreciate your support 😊❤️
