Patterned Paper Cards | SSS Card Kit April 2019 | Video

When I set about trying to think of ideas for my 10 cards 1 kit video with the April Simon Says Stamp card kit my focus was on the stamps, and I managed to come up with ten one layer cards using only the stamp set. You can see that here. (I’ve also made a card using the die, which you can see here.) But whilst I was in the planning stage I also thought it would be fun to make some cards that don’t use any of the stamps, and instead use just the patterned papers and stickers from the kit. That’s what this post and video are about. I did keep two of the papers aside, but otherwise I have used them all in this video, only adding card-bases and matting layers. And I still have plenty of pieces leftover for future projects!

I’m not going to write about each card individually in this post. Usually I do, but this time they were all more or less the same idea – pick a sketch, pick the papers and stickers, and adhere everything together. Fairly straightforward and I’d just end up repeating myself. (Plus I’m running out of time to get this live, and less writing means it’s ready quicker!) You can always see the actual assembly process in the video, if you want more information on any of the cards.

……….

I had a lot of fun making these cards. I seem to be using patterned papers less and less often, so it was really fun to challenge myself to use them. I probably could have got more cards out of the papers, but I thought 10 was a good amount to stop at. Maybe with a future kit I’ll challenge myself to see how many cards I can make before running out of the papers! I’d love to know which of the cards is your favourite.

Love,

Lady Joyful
