Today I’m sharing another card for my snarky series, inspired by a stamp set from Chunky Monkey Crafts, who I am designing for. As with the other cards in this series I kept the design clean and simple. I used an embossing folder to create the background of my card and accompany the sentiment.
I began this very simple card by creating the embossing. I put my card base into the Subtle embossing folder such that the back flap of the card was hanging out. I then placed it into my Big Shot and intentionally positioned the top plate of my sandwich to be staggered and not covering the entire card area. This meant that when I ran the card through the machine in the embossing folder an area at the bottom of the card was left unembossed.
After removing the card base from the embossing folder I decided to further define the edge of the embossed area. I did this by placing the card base into my paper cutter and using the score blade to add a score mark. I put the card facing down, so when I scored it the front would have the scoreline up (as a hill, rather than a valley).
This definitely is a very quick and simple design. I think the part that took me the longest was making sure I had the embossing folder lined up correctly to get the look I wanted! The main picture doesn’t quite show the embossing as much as I would like, but you can see it a bit better in the close up, and it shows even more in real life.
