We’re having another blog hop over on the Blank Page Muse blog showcasing the newest designs. This is day three of the hop – the final day. You can find day one here and day two here. Join in with the hop and leave comments along the way to have a chance at winning some of the new stamps!
For this card I’m using the new Unicorns stamp set by Donna Grey. I cut a panel of watercolour paper to a little larger than my card base, then stamped and heat embossed several of the images from the stamp set around the edge of the panel using gold embossing powder. I also stamped and heat embossed a sentiment into the centre.
Next I did some ink blending. I used Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon, keeping the colour darkest towards the outer edges of the panel and fading to white in the centre. Once I’d finished the ink blending I wiped away any ink that was on top of the embossing. I also added some splatters of water to give a softly distressed look to the card.
I trimmed the completed panel down to be slightly smaller than my card base. I tried to cut it in a way that would make the design evenly positioned on the panel, as my stamping had ended up somewhat off-centre. I then adhered the panel to a white card base.
This is a very fun card with a soft look to it. I really liked using this stamp set and I have some other ideas for creating with it in future. Make sure you check out the BPM blog to see what the other team members have made with this stamp set. There’s some great inspiration, and don’t forget that by leaving comments you could win some of the stamps!
