Creative Florals | Simon Says Stamp Leafy Frames | Video

I didn’t get much of a chance to play with the Simon Says Stamp June card kit when it was June. I really liked the stamp set that came in the kit though so I decided to have a play with it despite June being long gone. I made three cards with the stamps.

Card 1 – Flowing Foliage

For my first card I used the Green Leaf card from the kit and and stored the leafy elements from the Leafy Frames stamp set using Altenew Forest Glades ink. I focused the stamping more to the top of the card base, and lessened it towards the bottom. I added a sentiment with the darker Evergreen ink. I then used a green alcohol marker to add a drop shadow to all the leaves, helping them to stand out from the background. I finished off by adding a frame using Love From Lizi Pinstripe peel-offs in Mint Glitter.

Card 2 – No-Line Frame

I used Neenah desert storm for my second card base and stamped the rectangular floral frame with Barely Beige ink. I then used coloured pencils to colour the image in. I went with pink, green, blue green and purple. I added my sentiment with Catherine Pooler Twilight ink and finished the card with a few Love From Lizi sequins.

Card 3 – Golden Wreath

I had another go at metallics on black for my third card. I started by heat embossing the circular floral arrangement onto the card base with Love From Lizi Golden Crown embossing powder. I then used Gansai Tambi Starry Colors to paint the image.

Once I’d finished painting I added splatter and immediately regretted it. I painted over the centre of the wreath to disguise it, then fussy cut the image out to add to a new card base. I used gold mirror peel-offs to add a design to the card base, then popped the fussy cut image on top.

……….

I had hoped to get more cards made with this kit and stamp set but as we’re already two kits past it, I figured I should just share this already. I did also just receive my July kit so I want to get sharing with that one, too. Whilst I am pleased with these cards, I feel like they are not quite as visually impressive as some of the cards I’ve made previously for my Creative Florals videos.

Love,

Lady Joyful
