Coloring With Illustrator Markers | Photo Day YouTube Hop | Video

Today I’m sharing a fun card which is mostly colouring based. This video is also part of the World Photo Day YouTube Hop, which is a collaboration between some crafty YouTubers. You can find all the information on that in the description box of my accompanying video over on my YouTube channel.

I started by printing out the Love My Shoes Digi from SheepSki designs onto some Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock. I trimmed the panel to just larger than the image and started my colouring.

I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour the image, and you can see the exact colours I used in the video. There is also a real-time colouring video available for patrons on my Patreon page. I used an online colour picker to help me get a rough idea of my colour palette, though I was limited by the colours I had available to me.

Once I had completed the colouring I adhered the rose gold Polaroid-style frame over the image with Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue. I then stamped a sentiment from Three Room Studio’s Retail Therapy stamp set onto the bottom right corner of my card base with Versafine Onyx Black ink before finishing off by adhering the focal frame into position with the Tombow glue. I decided to adhere it at an angle to add more interest to the design.

I had a lot of fun making this card. It D took a lot of colouring which was quite time-consuming, but also enjoyable as I find colouring fairly relaxing. Be sure to head over to my accompanying video over on my YouTube channel to find the links to the other people participating in this collaboration, for more photo-inspired crafting.

  4. The time you spent colouring this was definitely worth it, looks incredible with so much detail and dimension. Especially love the way you did the sky through the windows. The polaroid frame is such a cool idea and the simple sentiment finishes the card off beautifully. This reminds me of myself as the one thing I love to do in Summer is lie on my bed with a big bowl of cherries and read trashy magazines….bliss. I’m so very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT!
