Skull And Cross Buns | Craft Supplies Before Guys | Anti-Valentine’s Card

Compensated post – see disclaimer at the end.

With Valentine’s rapidly approaching many crafters are up to their eyeballs making and sharing love-themed cards (I’ve shared one or two myself!) so I thought I’d take a step back from all the reds and pinks, hearts and sparkle, and share a card about the most important thing in our lives – crafting! 😉

This one layer card is made entirely with stamps from Skull and Cross Buns’ Crafting Is My Superpower stamp set. I spent a little while working out the positioning of my stamps, then stamped down all the images and sentiment using MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink. I then coloured everything in with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. I decided to go for a teal for the majority of my colouring, but I did also bring in some brown for the wooden portions of the stamp and pencil.

I added a little extra detail to the design by filling out between my larger stamped images with the little sequin stamp from the same stamp set. I stamped these with Altenew’s Mountain Mist ink, which coordinated nicely with the colouring I had done on the other elements of the card.

I’m really happy with how this design turned out. It’s gently snarky and would make a great Galentines card to give to a crafty friend! As it’s a one layer design it is easy and inexpensive to post out, and it doesn’t even require any masking! Customising it to the recipient would be really easy by simply changing up the colours to suit them. If I’d thought of it at the time, I probably could have made a whole bunch of these designs in different colours! Maybe next time.

Love,

Lady Joyful
