I am very happy to share this project which is my first card on the design team for Tic Tac Toe Challenge. It’s a weekly challenge, though I’ll be sharing alternate weeks with Team O whilst Team X provides inspiration for the other weeks.
From the tic tac toe board shown above I decided to use the left-hand column: hearts, polka dots and red.
I started with a panel of white card trimmed to be just smaller than a card front. I masked off with a piece of scrap paper from which I had die cut a heart, then lay the Catherine Pooler Scattered Circles stencil over the mask. I used Altenew Ruby Red ink to blend through the stencil. The spacing between the dots was larger than I wanted, so I moved the stencil a few times and blended again until I got the look I was after.
In order to help the heart stand out better from the background I decided to do some more inking. I removed my original mask and covered the stenciled heart with the die cut scrap paper heart. I very lightly brushed on Catherine Pooler’s Twilight ink to create a subtle halo around the heart.
I hope you found this inspiring! Be sure to visit the other DT posts, below, for more inspiration, and we hope you’ll come to play along with us.
Love,
Lady Joyful
