I hope you’re up for another video hop! I’ve been a part of several over the past few days. This time it’s a hop to celebrate Sabrina of Scrappy Tails Crafts reaching 3000 subscribers. There are lots of prizes to be won, so be sure to hop along and comment on each stop to increase your chances of winning. This is a hashtag driven hop and you can find more videos on YouTube by using the hashtag #scrappytailsslimline3k.
I started by creating my card base by cutting a piece of A4 card to 8 1/4 by 7, and scoring down the middle at 3 1/2. If you’re working with US card sizes you can leave it at 8 1/2 – no need to trim off that extra quarter of an inch!
Next I masked off the back of my card and started ink blending. I had a watermelon in mind when I planned my card, so I started by ink blending the bottom portion of my card with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I then switched to Spun Sugar to ink blend the top portion of my card, leaving a narrow strip of white in between both to be indicative of watermelon and to avoid the muddy colour that could result from mixing pink and green.
I used the same Distress Ink colours to ink blend a snippet of white card which I then cut with STAMPlorations Cupcake Builder #2. I heat embossed the icing layer and the top layer of the wrapper with clear embossing powder to add extra interest, then used both my Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen and Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to adhere the layers together.
I created two banners with MFT’s Stitched Sentiment Strips Dienamics and a snippet of white card, one of which I extended. I then stamped onto the shorter banner with a sentiment from Love From Lizi’s Sweet Treats stamp set. I then adhered one in front and one behind the cupcake.
I muted by background slightly by adding a layer of vellum cut to just smaller than the card base. I adhered the cupcake onto the vellum with more Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue before adhering the vellum to the card base. I finished the card with the addition of some Nuvo Drops in Ebony Black which I added onto the icing of the cupcake to complete the watermelon vibe.

Don’t forget this is part of a hop, so make sure to jump over to YouTube, click on the hashtag, and join in! There are a whole bunch of gift cards up for grabs, and the more of the videos you comment on, the more chances you have to win.
Love,
Lady Joyful
