The new theme at The Male Room is a bittersweet one. It’s all about travel. Many of us are not able to travel this year, but we can dream of it and create fun travel themed projects. I kept my design very simple.
I started by cutting multiple circles with two different sizes of circle dies, from snippets of white card. I then had a stamped on to them of the with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and the stamps from Love From Lizi’s Bon Voyage stamp set. I considered adding colour to some of the images but decided to leave them monochromatic, which also meant less stress on my injured wrist.
With all of my pieces ready all that was left to do was assembling. I arranged the circles on my card base according to a sketch (I was planning on entering into the challenge that the sketch is from, but due to technical difficulties I ended up missing the deadline). I considered the rule of visual triangles when I was arranging, and intentionally positioned the mountain images in a visual triangle, as well as the sentiments in a visual triangle.
I’m quite pleased with how this card turned out. It was rather simple to make, but still I think looks quite striking with the monochromatic design. The white circles on the matching white card base almost look as though they are dry embossed. I hope this inspires you to come and join in with our challenge.
