No Coloring Floral Two-For-One Cards | Month of Celebration

We’re now officially over the halfway mark of the Month of Celebration, hooray! And not a single day missed. I’m rather proud of myself for that. I hope you’ve been enjoying it so far. If you’re not sure what the month of celebration is, I’m celebrating both reaching 2000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, and it being my birthday month. All month long I’m going to be creating videos, and the more you comment on the more chances you’ll have to win a prize! Check out the original video to hear all about it, then leave a comment on the video, and head over to the Rafflecopter to confirm your entry. Commenting on today’s video is just one way to get an extra entry towards the prize draw.

Let’s see if I can keep this write up concise! If you want more detail, you can always watch the video to see it.

I started with two card bases – one pink, one white – and a panel a little smaller than the cards. I placed them into my MISTI and stamped the large floral arrangement from Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers stamp set (very aptly named!) with Hollyhock ink onto each one, being sure that the position was the same across all three.

Next I took the stitched circle die from STAMPlorations Coffee Petites and cut it five times from the white panel. I used Press N Seal to help hold all the pieces together then put foam squares onto the back of the circles and adhered them to the white card base. I wiggled the negative portion out and adhered it to the pink card base with Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue.

For my sentiment on each card I used Poppy Stamps’ Luscious Script Hugs die set. I cut both layers of the word twice from white card, then used the Hollyhock ink to colour one of each layer. I then used my Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen to adhere the white hugs to the pink shadow, and vice versa, before finally adhering them to the card bases.

The last touch on my cards was a sprinkling of sequins, using the Trinity Stamps Glass Slipper Confetti Mix. I used my QuickStik Tool to help pick each one up, and adhered them with Glossy Accents.

This technique is a fun way to get use out of beautiful floral stamps, such as the one I used, without having to do any colouring. And being able to get two cards for one is always a bonus! If I were to remake this I think I would probably make the panel full card front size. I definitely prefer the white version over the pink. Which do you prefer? Don’t forget to leave a comment over on YouTube, and complete the Rafflecopter for a chance to win my giveaway prize.

Love,

Charlotte E (Lady Joyful)

  2. Your cards are both so stunning. And, such a wonderful use of color–it’s a great reminder to be more creative in how I think of color as it pertains to floral stamps. And, I am so lazy, this method really would be perfect for those lazy moments as well. Thanks so much for playing along at Time Out. And, happy birthday month and congrats on your follower achievements.
