Shelf Cats | Month of Celebration

Today I’m back with my last cat-themed (for the Cat Lovers’ Hop) card making video (for my month of celebration) that’s short and sweet (because there aren’t enough hours in the day lately!) If you’re not sure what the month of celebration is, I’m celebrating both reaching 2000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, and it being my birthday month. All month long I’m going to be creating videos, and the more you comment on the more chances you’ll have to win a prize! Check out the original video to hear all about it, then leave a comment on the video, and head over to the Rafflecopter to confirm your entry. Commenting on today’s video is just one way to get an extra entry towards the prize draw.

I just yesterday received some goodies from Hero Arts, having won a gift card from them, and decided to use the Peek-A-Boo Doors die set for today’s cat card. I die cut it from a piece of pearlised brown card then used a craft knife to cut away the doors so that the windows would just be open.

Using the die cut panel as a guide I started stamping images onto my cream coloured card base, fitting them within the windows. I started with the cats and accessory images from The Greeting Farm’s Kitty Stacks stamp set. I then also used some other accessory images from The Greeting Farm’s Purfect Cats, Simon Says Stamp’s Christmas Cats, and Lawn Fawn’s Bun in the Oven, Mermaid For You, and Ahoy Matey.

I used coloured pencils to colour the images in. I tried to use the same few colours and evenly distribute them across the image. I kept the colouring fairly simple, mostly using two shades and going in first with the darker shade to map out the shadows before filling in with the lighter shade.

Once all the colouring was finished I used Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue on the back of the die cut panel, and using my MISTI to help with the positioning adhered the panel to the card base.

Don’t forget to leave a comment over on YouTube, and complete the Rafflecopter for a chance to win my giveaway prize for the Month Of Celebration.

Love,

Charlotte E (Lady Joyful)

  2. What a great design for a kitty card!! I like it with the doors cut off….less distracting! Love the fun little items on the shelves and the kitties who have managed to squeeze themselves in there, too! Sweet coloring.
