Crafty Christmas Collab | Patterned Paper Christmas Card

This month I’m part of a fun collaboration which is all about using our crafty stash and creating Christmas projects. There are a lot of us in the collaboration, so I’ll be keeping these videos really short and sweet. For the collaboration each participant has picked a pattern paper pack or kit to use throughout the month, creating one project to share each Wednesday. The pack I chose is one I actually just received from a dear subscriber who sent it along with my birthday card. It is Christmas Cuddles by The Paper Boutique.

My card for this first video was pretty straight forward. I was inspired by a sketch and used that as my starting point. I trimmed apart the papers I needed, using a die to cut out the sweet penguin focal image. For the background paper I chose a solid colour from the kit and embossed it with an embossing folder to give a subtle pattern. I think the softness added by the embossing was really the right choice.

I bought in some glitter cardstock from my stash to mat some of my elements onto, and per the sketch I had chosen I used a snowflake punch to create a border in the glitter card behind my polka dot patterned strip. I adhered everything together and used some of the leftover snowflakes to embellish the design.

I am not really someone who uses a lot of patterned papers so this was a really fun challenge for me, and I’m looking forward to working with the kit more over the coming weeks. This collection is so cute, and I’m really pleased with how the card came together. Don’t forget that this is part of a collab. Head over to YouTube and check the video description for all of the details.

Love,

Charlotte E (Lady Joyful)
