This week at Watercooler Wednesdays Heidi is hosting our all about occasions challenge! And given that today is Valentine’s I decided to share a set of Valentine’s notecards I created with the Simon Says Stamp Foodie Friends stamp set, which came in the recent Valentine’s card kit.

Today I made a Christmas card. It’s not the card that’s been prodding my mind waiting to be made, but that one can wait. I do like this Father Christmas stamp – it’s actually the only stamp I have (that I can think of) of a person, and I did have fun colouring it!
Today I experimented with using my Distress Inks for some watercolouring. I only have four Distress Ink colours, so whilst I really wanted to colour the flowers a bright, vibrant pink I had to settled for more muted purple tones instead.
I had a lot of fun making this card. I had a rough idea what I wanted to make when I started on it, and it all came together brilliantly. There were a couple of issues along the way, mostly with fussy cutting the monkeys – they’re very fiddly! – but nothing too frustrating.
