Joyous Stag

Joyous StagAnother Christmas card! There seem to be a lot of those around at the moment. Can’t think why..! I’m entering this card to four challenges. I took inspiration from Fusion for the layout and also tied in the “joy” element from their inspiration photo. Joy is in my name after all, so I’m probably legally obliged or something. Right? Right. I also included The Paper Players‘ CAS Christmas challenge along with Less Is More‘s vintage, and City Crafter Challenge Blog‘s gold finger challenge.

“Vintage” wasn’t exactly an easy theme for me – I was having a hard time thinking of anything I had that would be suitable but then I remembered this stag. It’s kinda vintage, right? I think… Hopefully it is good enough!

I positioned the stamp, which is Stag from Urban Stamps’ Christmas In The Country, with the help of my MISTI and stamped it with gold pigment ink. I restamped it several times to get a good impression, and with the fine detail in the image, well, the MISTI was a big help!

All that was left then was to add the sentiment. This comes from Lawn Fawn’s Merry Messages. I again used my MISTI and stamped with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink. And that was the card done! Very quick and easy to put together.

I couldn’t resist using that patterned paper behind the card for the photographs. It just seemed perfect – stags and gold, what more could I ask for? Anyway. This card is perhaps a little too plain for my liking… I’m not sure. I feel like it is missing something though. But still, I’m quite happy with how it came together. And given how little time I seem to have nowadays, it was nice that it came together so quickly!

Love,

Lady Joyful

  1. Fab card! I really like the simplicity of the design, so clean and uncluttered. The stag is definitely vintage with that “old country” feel and the sentiment goes perfectly. Thanks for playing along with us at Less is More 🙂
