Missing You

I made this card in a few snatched minutes before I had to leave for work today. I had a very long day scheduled and knew I might not have time for crafting when I got home. Even though I had another card scheduled for today I did want to make something. (And actually I made another when I got home, which I’ll be sharing next!) This is what I came up with – a quick, clean and simple card with a simple colour scheme.

I started by trimming down a piece of white card to be just smaller than my kraft card base, then a piece of kraft card to be just smaller than that.

I then put the kraft panel into my MISTI and lined up the tree stamp from CASual Friday’s Calm and Loving stamp set. I also lined up a sentiment from the same stamp set. After preparing the panel with my anti-static powder tool I stamped with embossing ink, added white embossing powder, and heated to melt it. I then lined up the heart part of the tree, and stamped and heat embossed that too.

As the white card would be mostly hidden behind the kraft I cut the centre of it out to save for future use. This also reduces the weight of the card. I then used my glue pen to adhere the white mat to the back of the kraft panel, and adhered the mat and panel to the card base using my tape runner.

I really like this card. It was nice and quick to make, would be easy to replicate, and the colours work beautifully for the overall feel of the card. It’s one of the rare occasions that a card turned out exactly as I was planning, and I’m very glad it did!

Love,
