CIC 500 | Birthday Celebration – PRIZES | Bugaboo / Lawn Fawn

We’re having a huge celebration over at Cupcake Inspirations because it is our 500th Challenge! In honour of the occasion we chose the theme of Birthday Celebration, so now is a great time to catch up on making birthday cards. Plus we have 13 sponsors offering 16 prizes between them for a total value of over $200! The team (myself included) have been very busy preparing as we’re sharing inspiration daily throughout the challenge in order to feature each of the fabulous sponsors, so we hope you’ll check back for those too. For today’s feature post we’re highlighting Bugaboo Stamps and Lawn Fawn.

Card 1 – Bugaboo Stamps

First up is Bugaboo Stamps, who are offering a $12 gift code as their prize. I used Birthday Monsters which I printed directly onto a card base. Coloured with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers, plus detail added with coloured pencils and a white gel pen. Regretted all the colouring when my painkiller wore off and I realised I’d overdone it! Finished off with a sentiment from Pink & Main’s Dinomite with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Challenges included:

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge – Birthday Celebration

Color Throwdown – Color Palette

Seize the Birthday – Anything Birthday Goes

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday – Cute

Spectrum Noir Challenge – Anything Goes

Card 2 – Lawn Fawn

Our second featured sponsor for today is Lawn Fawn, who are offering a $25 gift voucher as a prize. I used Lovable Legends stamps and Stitched Oval dies. Having overdone things with the previous card and needing to rest my wrist I wanted something I could do mostly with my left hand. I started making a smooshed background with a variety of blue and green Distress Oxides and inks. I then cut a piece of it with one of the oval dies, and added a sentiment, heat embossed with with Glassy Ocean embossing powder. I stamped just the tentacles of the kraken with the same embossing powder onto a white panel. I added stippled detail (easier than ‘normal’ colouring when trying to only use my non-dominant hand) then adhered the panel to a card base, and the sentiment oval to the panel. I finished off with some Love From Lizi Mint Glitter Peel Offs.

Challenges included:

Classic Design Challenge – Anything Goes

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge – Birthday Celebration

Creatalicious Challenges – Anything Goes

Dragonfly Dreams – Anything Goes

Incy Wincy Designs – Sea Colours

Lawn Fawnatics – Make the Sentiment the Star

I hope this inspires you to come and play along with our challenge. Again, we have a lot of prizes up for grabs if you come and play along. You can find further inspiration from the rest of the team over on the launch post, any of the feature posts (Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 or today’s Day 6), or directly on their blogs via the links below. Plus we’ll be sharing each day throughout the rest of the challenge to further inspire you. I hope you’ll join us!

Love,
