Craft Haul, Inventorying, and a Slimline Card| Month of Celebration

I’m covering a multitude of sins in my latest video, with a craft haul, discussion of how I inventory my supplies, and of course a card! This is of course part of my ongoing month of celebration – I’m celebrating both reaching 2000 subscribers on my YouTube channel, and it being my birthday month. All month long I’m going to be creating videos, and the more you comment on the more chances you’ll have to win a prize! Check out the original video to hear all about it, then leave a comment on the video, and head over to the Rafflecopter to confirm your entry. Commenting on today’s video is just one way to get an extra entry towards the prize draw.

Haul:

I was lucky enough to win a gift card to Simon Says Stamp recently, as well as a couple to STAMPlorations, and I also made a small purchase from a shop here in Finland called Käsitellen. My haul is the result of those.
From SSS I picked up some Lawn Fawn die sets: the Magic Iris Die (which I already used for this card); Camera Add On for the Iris; and Scalloped Pop Up Box.

The Käsitellen order included the Envelope Punch Board I showed yesterday, some paper to use with it for envelope making, and a reinker for my Catherine Pooler Twilight ink which has been in desperate need of a refill for sometime.

I had the upcoming Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop in mind when purchasing from STAMPlorations. I got their Coffee Petites stamp set along with Always Tea Time. There was a freebie die, Receive the King, which I probably won’t use so it’s going into my giveaway stash. And I also got one of their slimline stencils, Kitty. Plus there was a Peeking Chrysanthemums stencil thrown in too!

Inventorying:

In the video I walk through how I inventory my stamps, dies, stencils etc. using the Color My Life app. It’s a huge help in keeping track of what I own and also great for when I’m trying to find a particular stamp or sentiment and don’t remember what set it is in. I’m not affiliated with the app, just a fan!

Card:

Okay, with all that out the way we’ll get onto the card. I wanted to have a play with some if the new goodies and decided I’d use the stencils which of course meant making a slimline card.

First I lightly ink blended Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink onto my slimline card base, keeping it mostly to the left and bottom of the card. I then placed the chrysanthemum stencil over the top, using washi to mask the areas I didn’t want, and ink blended again with the Squeezed Lemonade for a tone on tone look. I didn’t want the large flower the top so I shifted the stencil and put a smaller flower in that corner instead.

I then swapped to the Kitty stencil and Spiced Marmalade ink. I blended several layers through to really build up the intensity of the orange until I was happy with the look.

Removing the stencils I finished the card by adding a sentiment from a STAMPlorations stamp set from my stash called Just Because and stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink, completing my card.

I hope you enjoyed getting a look at the goodies, learning about the way I inventory the supplies, and of course seeing my card! Don’t forget to leave a comment over on YouTube, and complete the Rafflecopter for a chance to win my giveaway prize.

Love,

  5. This is a super card Charlotte and love the idea of using two stencils, first the tone on tone chrysanth over some and then using the fun and pretty kitty stencil over the top and being able to see the chrysanth petals though the cat stencil which looks great, and I love the slimline design too. x
