There’s a new challenge starting today at Cupcake Inspirations. We’re going soft and pretty in pastels for our colour palette. You can choose whichever colours you like as long as they are pastels! I decided to go for a feminine, floral birthday card.
I started with a cream card base and stamped a birthday sentiment from Altenew’s Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom stamp set into the bottom right corner with Hero Arts’ Soft Granite ink. I then used Altenew’s Brush Art Floral stamp set to add my florals. I chose Frosty Pink ink for the flower heads and Forest Glades for the stems and leaves. The Frosty Pink I stamped a couple of times to get intense enough, but for the Forest Glades I used second generation stamping to soften the colour.
This is definitely a simple design, but I think it turned out really pretty. The soft colours work very nicely for it, but the design could also be done with more intense colours. I hope this inspires you to come and join in with our challenge. You can find further inspiration from the rest of the Design Team on the challenge site or directly at their blogs via the links below.
