Let’s Celebrate – Polkadoodles GDT

I’m excited to announce that I have been invited to join the Polkadoodles challenge DT as a guest designer. Polkadoodles makes some adorable images and I’m so happy to have the chance to play with them more. The theme for this first challenge is celebrations.

I started by arranging the Surprise! image from the Celebrations 2 collection along with a sentiment from the Celebrations 3 Sentiment pack, then printed them onto some alcohol marker friendly paper.

I then coloured the image in using a combination of Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Yosoo alcohol markers. I went for pink, red and pale blue colour scheme, and decided to make the girl blonde.

Once I’d completed the colouring I trimmed down the panel. I chose a pink card base, and edged the top and bottom of the panel with black before adhering everything into place with double-sided tape.

I really enjoyed colouring up this sweet image, and am happy with the card despite a few mishaps with trying to finish it off. I hadn’t originally intended to have the card base showing, then I was going to add some stamped stripes to the card base. Eventually I settled on this design and I am pleased with it.
