Chunky Monkey Crafts | Proud Owner | Heat Embossed Edge

Today I’m sharing another card for my snarky series, inspired by a stamp set from Chunky Monkey Crafts, who I am designing for. As with the other cards in this series I kept the design clean and simple. For this card I decided to change things up and use a black card base, and created an on-the-edge design.

I started by swiping my embossing ink pad across the bottom edge of my card base. I then coated it with Love From Lizi Rainbow Wishes embossing powder. I used a dry paintbrush to stipple the edge slightly, softening the line between the powder and the card base, and then heat set it.

Next I placed the card base into my MISTI and stamped my chosen sentiment from Narky Sentiments 2 onto the embossed strip with more embossing ink. After some consideration I decided to heat emboss it with white embossing powder to make it really pop.

I absolutely love how the Rainbow Wishes powder looks on the black background. It almost has the feel of a galaxy, or an oil slick. It’s really striking. The white sentiment stands out really well against the dark colours of the rest of the design. And I think the touch of humour works well on the simple card.
