CIC 499 | Sea You Soon | Nautical

The current Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is a themed one, and we’re looking for nautical projects! Nautical means relating to ships, sailors or navigation, so make sure your projects relate to that and not just a general beach/sea theme. I’m still keeping very busy with lots of projects and wanted to make a quick card again for this reminder post, and here’s what I came up with.

I started by stamping the large ship from Lawn Fawn’s Ahoy Matey directly onto a white card base with MFT Black Licorice Hybrid ink. I then masked off the boat.

With the card base still in my MISTI I linked up the waves stamp from Lovable Legends. I stamped it with Altenew Dusk ink, shifted the card base up slightly and stamped again with the same ink. I then shifted up again and repeated the process with two lines of Deep Iris and finally two lines of Midnight Violet.

Before removing the card base from my MISTI I lined up a sentiment from Mermaid For You and stamped it with Catherine Pooler’s Tiara ink.

Having finished my stamping I removed the card from the MISTI, and took the mask off of my boat. I then used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers to colour the boat. I went for browns for the wooden areas of the boat, then used orange and yellow for the sails.

As a final touch I added a couple of trios of Limoncello Nuvo Drops plus added them onto the portholes of the boat.
